In 1983 the KRO (which stands for Catholic Radio Broadcastingcompany) started with the program 'Don't stop'.
Music was mixed by Rogier Rumke.
Later it 'grew' into 'And the beat goes on'.
And the beat goes on played from 1983 till 1985, it's tracklists where based on the 'import' scene. It's audience was young disco-going people.
First every Wednesday (13.00 till 14:00), later every sunday (12:00 till 13:00) a mix of one hour was made by one of the 'house-jocks': Leo Cotino, Peter Duykersloot and Ton Poppes or by other mixers.
The mixes could be seen as DJ-set mixes, usually tracks non-stop pasted together with not
as much 'tricks', cuts and samples as Ben Liebrand's 'In The mix' mixes, but nonetheless very entertaining.

Peter's musical style during those years was mixing 'Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis', 'Nick Martinelli',' Marcus Miller' tracks. Peter is the owner of Rhythm Import, Amsterdam.

Leo was a DJ in the discotheque Cartouche in Utrecht (1985-1989). Then he DJ ed in Escape
A'dam from 1989-1994.
