Biography
Aliases: DJ D-Nar, SmallHans
Real Name: Hans Hendriksen.
Born on the 3rd of October 1967 in Hillywood in the Netherlands. He started playng with the wheels of steel when he was 13 or so and his first bought record was Peaches and Herb with Reunited in 1978/1979.
When he became 14 he bought, maybe asked to the world famous St Nicolaas from Spain, 2 turntables and a small mixing console. His fathers tapedeck was the whitness of all this. He expanded his hobby by following a course how to make radio and joined an illegal radio station that was very popular in those days. He had 2 programms…. 1 on firday night called: De Disco Karavaan, were he played only 12 inches, mixes from himself and other deejays and guided the listeners to the Disco Dance Top 50. His 2nd programm he had on the Sunday night and was called: Relaxation, a kind of soft-soulshow. 2 hours of music to relax with.
In the mean time he did his best investment, he bought 2 Technics SL-1210MKII turntables and a Tascam 106 mixing console. He bought only 12 inches in Utrecht at Kareltje and Staffhorst. Corne Kleijn worked in Kareltje and also Martin Boer worked there. These two people and ofcourse Ben Liebrand, Olando Valpoort and Guan Elmzoom were the inspiration of his mixing basics.
During the 90ties he did not buy so much 12 inches because the CD was introduced, he made his biggest mistake by selling around 500 12 inches of the early 80ties that are very hard to get nowadays. Well everybody makes mistakes isn't it?
Now he is buying oldies as well as Trance/Club, so he expanded his musical interest.
