| Queen - Indeep - Sugarhill Gang
| A mix with Another one bites the dust, Last night a DJ saved my life and Rappers Delight. Made in March/April-2002

- The idea for combining Queens "Another one bites the dust" and Sugarhill Gangs "Rappers Delight" actually came when I was making the Mission Impossible Mix. At that moment I found out that the basslines of the two tracks were pretty similar. When I started the attempt to make a mix with only those two tracks however, the thought crossed my mind that perhaps a combination of Queen with Indeeps "Last night a DJ saved my life" would sound even better.

- The first element I made was a combination of the basslines of the two tracks. I kind of merged them until it seemed to be 1 bassline. To do this, I had to raise the Queen track by 1/2 tone. This element was used to start the mix with. The underlying bass-snare loop was made from two beats from Queen. After about 2 weeks, the combination Queen / Indeep was finished and the original idea to put in Sugarhill Gang began knagging at me again... I did the same trick with the basslines of Queen and Sugarhill Gang but Sugarhill had to be raised with a full tone. Also, making the bass/snare loop from Queen match Sugarhill Gang was a hell of a job... I had to move every single beat to the right place to make it sync.

- In the first version, the guys of Sugarhill Gang sound like girls, this has improved in the second version, for which I lowered the entire mix by 1/2 tone.(06:51)

| The Rockets MegaMix
| I made this mix on special request of Frans van de Kamp. He is a big fan of Rockets and asked me if I was willing to try and make a mix of some of their tracks. And when Frans asks, the answer is always yes:-)

- I started in december 2002 and on 17-jan-2003, the mix was finished. I must tell you that it was quite a challenge to make it, first of all because I knew almost none of the Rockets tracks. Furthermore the tempos of their songs vary from 90 BPM to >150 BPM, some of their hits are in 3/4 and other in 4/4 and last but not least: the tempo of the songs varies a lot throughout each song.

- When choosing the tracks I concentrated on the tracks in the Rockets top 10 as mentioned on the Rockets fan-site. I did use some extra drumloops
- and here and there some hihats, claps and crashes.

| 90s Mix
| The Nineties Mix was made in the second half of 1999 in about 300 hours. I started with ripping a lot of 90's dance-tracks from CD's and determining their BPM's. Then I began with the lowest BPM's and tried to find cool transitions. The first thing I tried was to match Ace of Base's "Wheel of Fortune" with 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor's "One day" and these have become the first 2 tracks of the mix. The first 10 minutes of the mix went very smoothly (apart from the fact that I had to redo it several times due to computercrashes...) and I was positive that I would be able to make 1 full hour. Actually, also the rest of the mix went smoothly. In the BPM135+ regions, I thought that the result wasn't as good as before, and I still don't quite like this part of the mix. After having finished the 94 tracks, I started with the intro and outtro. The music-bed under the intro was taken from an Alan Parsons track that fit quite well to the first real track.
- The voice you hear in the intro is my own, but digitally processed with some CoolEdit effects. The countdown that I built in was made from the soundfiles that came with my voice-mail software:-) One has to be creative.... Furthermore, I was quite proud of the samples that start Backstreet Boys' "Everybody (Backstreet's back)". Took about a week to make this but hell, who cares:-) I also think the transitions from Jovanotti's "Libera l'anima" to KLF's "Justified and Ancient" and N-Trance's "Da ya think I'm sexy" are not bad at all. For the rest I leave it up to you.
- The Nineties Mix was almost entirely made of 7" versions from CD. The main software I used was CoolEdit Pro.

| My first remix on PC. Actually I made this remix just to figure out what could be done with Magix Musik Maker. I took the "Carnaval Festival" song, played at "de Efteling" (a beautiful amusement park in Kaatsheuvel, Holland) and turned it into a danceable version at 110 BPM.(02:13)
