Olav Basoski
Biography
Raised in Haarlem, The Netherlands, and a descendant of a Polish soldier, Olav Basoski is one of the biggest names in house music. His career as a DJ started when he was just 15. Buying his first recording equipment in '87 he starts producing his own material. His first contact with housemusic was when he went to a club and heard Inner City's "Big Fun" in 1989, it blew his head off. Ever since "Windows" (Rhythm Records) first touched down, his productions have become dancefloor anthems. He has churned out a string of banging tunes under a wide array of pseudonyms (Sil, Yokiboys, Samplitude, Pancake).
Olav has remixed everyone from Moby to Hardfloor to Apollo 440 to Phatts & Small.
Mix History Olav started as a 'Bond van doorstarters' mixer and made a couple of mixes for the BVD-yearmixes and the Tros ClubMixes. He mixed a lot of Arcade's Houseparty mixes (Dj-sets) and made mixes with DJ Erick E(erdhuyzen) : the Works-series & the Samplitude series (both Dj-sets too). And a lot of garage/hardhouse productions. And also a lot of remixes for some big artists. It's hard to keep track in Olav's productions; his remixes are usually DJ only and hard to find for non-DJ's.
