My first encounter with mixing was back in the summer of 1983. On my vacation, in a little town somewhere in the Netherlands, some children walked by at 2 AM with a getthoblaster. At that time Veronica Radio was broadcasting with a one hour mix of Ben Liebrand…and I saw the light! Since then I sold everything I had, just to buy turntables and a mixing console. In the following years I made lot's of tapes for friends and had the pleasure to DJ in some discothecs. In 1989 I went to Filmschool to be a soundengineer. In the 2nd year I wanted more then sound only….I switched to the editing class. Editing feature films and television is my profession now! Remixing music is just a "nighttime" hobby…
Most things I like to remix are 80´s songs. Mostly I´m looking for a combination between old and new song….makes it so funny. Digging the old pile of records, that´s what I often do. For the editmixes I take less effort. This comes and goes. It´s mostly a song that I hear by coincedence. I´m always trying not to make only edit´s in a song, but to add something extra special…..

| Indeep vs Viola - Last Night JPL Changed My Voice( Mashup) | Last night a DJ saved my life runs at about 100 bpm. If You Could Read My Mind runs at about 122 bpm. The mix is 122 bpm so I had to speed up Indeep and do some real vocal tricks here! It wasn't that easy but I managed to bend Indeep to their limits.

I wanted a "70's disco feeling" in this remix. Then I started putting in the acapella's. I did the whole remix in Reason and Ableton Live.

| Cher has Nu Shooz… Believe in I Can't Wait( Mashup) | De remix die ik maakte loopt op 122 bpm, stuk sneller dus als het org. Er is weinig van het orgineel overgebleven omdat ik alles maar heb nagemaakt op 1 sampletje na. De zang komt van Cher van de acapella "Believe" Let maar eens op de 2e stem die ik er achter heb gelegd. Alles is gemaakt met Reason 2.5 behalve de acapella van Cher, die loopt mee in Ableton. De vocoders komen dus ook uit Reason.

| Craig David - Fill me in vs Antonio Carlos Jobim - Samba de Uma nota só( Mashup) | My favorite kind of music....BOSSANOVA. Shurly I had to do something with it once. It´s a very simple mix. One A capella and one Jobim track. Jobim runs at about 142-144 BPM. So Craig had to be stretched several times to fit the bossanova. A little reverb does the trick. That´s all!! VBR Lame encoded. Total Touch is a dutch group with lead singer Trijntje Oosterhuis....I never thought I would remix her....

| Steelers Wheel - Stuck in the middle with Vanity 6 | Reservoir Dogs (1992) triggered me to do at least something with this song as Quentin Tarantino did in his Film. Best part was finding a song that could fit in. So it became a "non" edit combimix of Stealers Wheel - Stuck in the middle with you and Vanity 6 - Nasty Girl!!! Worst part was to sync them it up. | Sting - Shape of my heart | Have you seen the film "Leon" or as they call it in the USA "The Professional" by Luc Besson? The credits-song is made by Sting and is called "The shape of my heart". Nice, beautifull slow song with a guitar....but it can be different!! I planned to make this remix for a long time and finally it got there. It´s actually a combi-mix with NWA (Niggers With Attitude), contains a totaly new rythem section and ofcourse....edits.........btw this mix sounds really nice with headphones on!!
